Artist Madina aka Pomegranate City
Madina is an artist. My conversations with her reveal an active and creative imagination. Her artwork is whimsical with a sprinkle of melancholy.
Seemingly always working on a creative project, she paints, draws and writes. She also uses computer based illustration in her work.
She has two current projects.
@pomegranatecity_ is a series of acrylic artworks on canvas inspired by her childhood growing up in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

@m.delmonty is a series of digitally created illustrations and posters inspired by dreams, art, literature and nature, imagined around a somewhat eponymous character called Mado.

Madina came to the studio in May to capture some simple and honest photos of herself for her profile. A natural beauty and a thoughtful conversationalist, I asked her afterward what inspires her, “I believe art is inspired by our personal reaction to the world; by the things that give us strong emotions: love, hate, joy, fear, confusion and everything we ever questioned and wanted to discover”.
