Because you probably don’t book and brief event photographers every day, you may want to know more about how we work.
GrayNoise Photography shoot business and corporate events. We photograph cocktail parties, exhibitions and conferences, media launches, galas and social events. We also have experience shooting Behind-The-Scenes (BTS) and stills for film and television productions.
We are a Sydney based business to business service. As such we do not typically photograph weddings, private birthdays or other domestic events.
Briefing for an event photography quote
Event photography pricing is based on the duration of coverage required and the size of the event, as well as any extras you request.
As such, when requesting a quote, it’s good to let us know the number of attendees expected at your event. We use this information, combined with the duration, to estimate how many shots we’ll take. More shots = more post production and file management required following your event.
Large events may need more than one photographer, or a photographer’s assistant. We charge different rates based on the number of photographers required. We can advise you on ideal coverage, for the size and nature of your event, and tailor a package that balances your needs and budget.

Off-camera lighting
‘Off-camera’ lighting is an option you may want to consider for you event. We use it to light red carpets, media walls or award winners photos. Anywhere you want to get more polished looking shots. Standard event photography uses either on-camera flash lighting, or available light. ‘Off-camera’ light is typically larger and softer to create a more studio-lit look. It tends to cast softer shadows and give a more flattering result. The lights are on stands, so ‘off-camera’ light is best suited to static set-ups where plenty of space is available.
Please note, for photography we use flash for off-camera lighting. If you intend to shoot video at your event you may also need constant lighting. Your videographer will be able to tell you.

Types of output for event photography
Finally, the type of output you need can affect photography pricing. We provide print and web resolution images via Dropbox for all events. But, we can also provide web galleries, photobooks, and prints if requested. If you are interested in these different types of output, please mention that when contacting us.
For an accurate quote it’s best to tell us as much as possible about your event.
Brief template for event photography
We’ve created an event photography brief template to help you communicate your requirements. It’s not essential to complete one in the quoting stage, but you may find it useful for planning event photography.
You can view examples of Sydney business and corporate event photography in our portfolio.
When you’re ready, you can get a quote for event photography online, otherwise feel free to contact us with any questions.

Thanks so much for talking about the things to tell a potential photographer to help them do their job the best they can. I have a friend getting married soon and he’s looking into getting a photographer to document the day. We’ve been looking into how to keep them informed and what to expect.
Glad you found it useful Jessie 🙂
